Hello,
I'm new to the blog scene, but am hoping that someone can assist me with a few items I have to sell. The one item in particulat is an antique Haines, Jones and Cabury toilet. This toilet is in excellent condition. It's ivory in color and as you can tell fromthe pictures, in very good condition.
After reading a couple other blogs, I understand it might be worth a few thousand dollars.
I'm trying to determine it's exact age and current value. I have emailed a fairly local HaJoCa location for assistance, but if anyone can be of assistance in the meantime it would be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, I have a marble sink that I know for a fact is close to 100 years old. It was original to my parent home that was built in 1902.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Well, the toilet is stunning. I think a few thousand might be a bit high, though. I saw another HAJOCA very similar to that one in detail sell on EBay for $2300 (I think), but it was a complete toilet with all of the original pipes, tank, and huge oak back-splash. The bowl on that one was also blue instead of the basic white. It was a top-of-the-line toilet, complete, and in nearly pristine condition.
I would say that bowl is from the 1880s. I would pay $500 for it in a heart beat. If I hadn't just finished my downstairs bathroom I would make you an offer right now. I say list it on Ebay for $499 and see who bites.
As for the marble vanity, they are much more common and not as easy to sell. With the bowl it could be worth as much $300 on a good day, but someone would really have to want it. Be sure to include any pipes no matter what the condition.
Good luck!

The Petch House
(Let me know if you put it on Ebay. I would love to follow the auction and see what it gets)
